Over the past few months, I’ve been taking a break from Siblings of Steel. It’s been nice to step away for a while and get a broader perspective on the series, and it’s led me to an important decision, I will be rebooting the comic.

When I started work on SoS in early 2020, there was a lot I didn’t know about writing, which means I made many mistakes that, had I been at my current skill level, would have been avoidable. The original outline for the series was over 50 chapters, and I expected to work on it for a decade or more before finishing. At the time, I wore this inefficiency as a badge of honor, but now I realize that It’s silly to take so much time on something when I’m still relatively inexperienced at my craft. Maybe in ten years or so, I will be knowledgeable enough to decide when something is worth taking so long to complete. But for now, I think it’s best to set hard limits on my projects to create goals that will be achievable in a much shorter time than ten years.

As such, I am reimagining Siblings of Steel as a mini-series, about five issues, with a satisfying beginning, middle, and end (but with room for a sequel, should I be so inclined😉). As for The Guardian, since the original three chapters of SoS are no longer canon, I’m not sure where the old outline I wrote stands; it may require significant rewrites to meet my current standards. So, for the time being, please consider both projects to be on hiatus until further notice.

These stories mean so much to me, but let’s be honest, these are niche comics. If I had a hundred subscribers or more, all begging for the next episode, I would certainly be giving more priority to these projects. But as it is, I am happy to take my time and make the best comics I can make. And there will still be things I am making and posting, like my YouTube Vids, Instagram and Twitter art, and blog posts like these.

And on that note, thanks for reading and watching; I appreciate it. I hope you continue to enjoy the things I create, and you can follow my Patreon, Blog (https://callumquinncreates.com/index.php/blog/), Twitter, or my new Reddit for updates (https://www.reddit.com/r/CallumQuinnCreates/). Above is some concept art for the reimagined series; I thought you all might enjoy that. Thanks again for your support–
